Working alongside the Nurse Unit Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our perioperative department while fostering a culture of safety, teamwork and clinical excellence.Whether you're an experienced ANUM or a senior perioperative nurse ready to take the next step in your leadership career, we'd love to hear from you.About the RoleAs an ANUM, you will provide operational and clinical leadership across the perioperative environment, supporting teams in delivering safe, high-quality care to patients undergoing surgery.Your responsibilities will include:Supporting the daily coordination of operating theatre activities and workflows Providing clinical leadership and supervision to nursing staffActing as a role model for evidence-based practice and patient-centred careSupporting staffing, resource allocation and operational efficiencyAssisting with performance development, coaching and staff engagementContributing to quality improvement, accreditation and patient safety initiativesPromoting effective communication and collaboration across multidisciplinary teamsSupporting a positive workplace culture focused on teamwork, accountability and continuous improvementWhat You'll BringCurrent registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRARecent experience within Perioperative ServicesDemonstrated experience in Scrub/Scout,
Anaesthetics or PACUStrong clinical knowledge and patient assessment skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsProven ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environmentA commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and service excellenceThe ability to mentor, develop and support team membersEssential RequirementsAustralian working rightsCurrent AHPRA registrationMinimum 5 years' perioperative nursing experienceWell-developed leadership and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated ability to coordinate clinical activities and manage competing prioritiesUnderstanding of NSQHS Standards and contemporary perioperative practiceCommitment to ongoing professional developmentDesirablePrevious experience in a leadership or supervisory rolePostgraduate qualification in Perioperative Nursing or related specialtyExperience participating in accreditation activitiesKnowledge of workforce planning, rostering and clinical governance processesAbout usJohn Fawkner Private Hospital is a fully accredited 186-bed acute care facility providing a comprehensive range of surgical, medical, oncology and critical care services.
