About the Role
As a
Security Technician
with Macquarie Alarms & Security, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining high-end alarm, IP CCTV, and access control systems for our commercial, residential, and community clients across Orange and the Central West region.
This is a hands-on position ideal for a trade-qualified technician who takes pride in technical excellence, clean workmanship, and providing reliable solutions to our clients.
Key Responsibilities
Installation & Integration:
Install, program, and commission electronic security systems, including networked IP CCTV, commercial access control, and intruder alarm systems.
Maintenance & Upgrades:
Conduct routine inspections, preventative maintenance, system upgrades,
and firmware/software updates across client sites.
Diagnostics & Repair:
Troubleshoot and diagnose complex technical faults, network issues, and hardware failures on site.
Client Engagement & Support:
Hand over completed systems to clients, providing explicit operational training, basic maintenance guidance, and user documentation.
Job Management & Safety:
Complete accurate job sheets, test equipment to ensure compliance with safety/AS**** standards, and collaborate with the team to schedule service calls efficiently.
Requirements & Qualifications
License:
Current Class 2C Security License and ACMA Open Cabler Registration (or ability to hold).
Technical Experience:
Practical experience installing and configuring intruder alarms, IP CCTV, and integrated access control platforms.
Networking Knowledge:
Solid understanding of IP networking, router configuration, and device networking for security systems.
Driver's License:
Current, unrestricted NSW Driver's License.
Soft Skills:
Clear communication skills, pride in neat work practices, and a strong customer-service focus.
