About the role:
As the Kitchen Assistant, you will be responsible for:
- Assisting with the preparation and distribution of all meals to residents
- Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure meals are delivered on time
- Ensuring the high quality of food is maintained
- Managing specific dietary requirements when preparing food
- Maintaining a protected and clean kitchen workspace
To be considered you will need the following:
- Experience in aged care or in the hospitality industry
- Knowledge of the HACCP food safety system
- Certificate in commercial cookery (desirable)
- Food and safety course completed (desirable)
- Demonstrated knowledge of kitchen operations and management of kitchen staff
- Availability to work weekends
- Ability to prepare nutritious meals within set time frames
- Excellent communication
