About the role:

There is one Fixed Term, full-time parental leave cover position at 80hrs per fortnight, ending 31/10/27 within the Centre for Health Analytics.

You will be responsible for taking a key role in leading the operations, administration, and financial management functions. The Business Manager will work with the Director to deliver reporting and analysis of department operations and project benefits. This leadership position also provides practical and sustainable solutions to ensure the department operates in a cost-effective and effective manner.

Classification for this position is in accordance with Award 10 - Managers and Administrative Workers.

Depending on experience and qualifications, this will range from AO71 (Grade 7, Level 1) to AO75 (Grade 7, Level 5), FTE base salary from $114,436.40 to $124,912.84 per annum, plus superannuation.

What you'll achieve:

- Provide management support to all Health Analytics stream leaders and actively create a culture of high performance and continuous improvement
- Manage finances, invoicing, payroll and budget requirements, providing explanation for variables and solutions to ensure effective budget management, expenditure and revenue supporting key performance indicators and savings targets
- Foster collegiate relationships with external stakeholders, developing partnership and collaboration opportunities with both domestic and international collaborators

Your skills and experience:

- Tertiary qualifications in a related field and/or significant relevant industry experience
- Proven leadership experience in a team environment and ability to work well as a senior team member
- An understanding of the healthcare sector
- Experience in developing and maintaining strong engagement with internal and external stakeholders in a complex multi-organisation environment.

The Centre for Health Analytics enables the vision of Melbourne Children’s to become an internationally leading paediatric campus in the use of data to improve all aspects of patient care, operations, education, and research. The Centre delivers data services to the Campus, enabling access to data and analytics support, builds data infrastructure and is building a data enabled workforce through a range of workforce development initiatives. Other requirements:

- Current National Criminal Record Check, or willing to obtain
- Valid Working with Children Check
- Compliance with RCHs “Staff Immunisation - Prevention of Vaccine Preventable Diseases” procedure
