We are seeking a passionate and experienced Educational Leader to fulfil the role of Educational Leader and 2IC at our Early Learning Centre in Gungahlin. At Harbour EL, our vision includes two key commitments:

About the Position:

As the Educational Leader / 2IC, you will work closely with the Director of People and Policy (Nominated Supervisor) and be actively involved in shaping a high-quality, values-driven early childhood centre.

While we embrace a strength-based approach that includes collaboration and shared responsibilities, your primary focus will be on:

- Supporting all teachers and educators to implement regular planning cycles for all children attending the centre in working towards the outcomes of the Early Years Learning Framework V2.0.

- Overseeing all aspects of centre educational programming and practice, ensuring it is reflective of best practice, current thinking and evidence based.

- Leading teachers and educators to create inviting, inspiring environments inciting wonder and curiosity reflective of the children in the Harbour Early Learning community.

- Mentoring educators and teachers in their pedagogical documentation and ensuring families are informed about their child's engagement in the educational program.

What we are looking for:





- A Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education (or ACECQA approved equivalent)

- Excellent understanding of the National Quality Framework, including experience with the Assessment and Rating process

- Strong knowledge of relevant sector legislation

- A current Working with Vulnerable People registration

- Valid National Police Check clearance

- Up-to-date First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification

- Current approved Child Protection training

- An experienced leader (minimum 3 years experience in a leadership role) who is passionate about raising the standard of early childhood education in the ACT, with a mindset for reflection and ongoing growth.
