Purchasing & Inventory Controller

GP HVAC Group

GP HVAC Group is seeking an experienced and highly organised Purchasing & Inventory Controller to join our team.

This is a key role supporting purchasing and inventory management across our branch network. The successful candidate will be highly analytical, confident working with large amounts of data, and able to communicate clearly with Branch Managers to ensure stock levels, purchasing and inventory settings are effectively managed across the business.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and monitor inventory levels across all branches.

- Review stock levels, sales trends, reorder points and purchasing requirements.

- Run and analyse regular inventory, purchasing and sales reports.

- Use data to identify overstock, understock, slow-moving stock and potential stock shortages.

- Work closely with Branch Managers to maintain appropriate stock levels based on branch requirements and demand.

- Coordinate stock transfers between branches to improve inventory availability and utilisation.

- Assist with purchase orders and supplier ordering requirements.

- Review and maintain inventory settings within the ERP system.

- Monitor incoming stock and outstanding purchase orders.

- Assist management with forecasting, stock analysis and purchasing decisions.

- Maintain accurate inventory and purchasing data across the business.

- Identify opportunities to improve inventory control, reporting and purchasing processes.

Key Skills & Experience

The following capabilities are essential for this role:

- Advanced Excel skills – you must be highly confident working with spreadsheets, formulas, data analysis and large datasets.

- Strong reporting skills – ability to run, interpret and present inventory, purchasing and sales reports.

- ERP software experience – previous experience working with an ERP or inventory management system is essential. Experience with NetSuite would be highly regarded.

- Strong analytical and numerical skills with excellent attention to detail.

- Clear and confident communication skills, particularly when working directly with Branch Managers and other internal stakeholders.

- Strong understanding of inventory control, stock management and purchasing processes.

- Ability to identify issues within data and take action rather than simply reporting the numbers.

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

About You

You will suit this position if you are comfortable working between data, purchasing and branch operations.

We are looking for someone who can confidently analyse reports, identify what needs attention and communicate clearly with our Branch Managers to ensure the right stock is available in the right locations.

This is a hands-on role where solid Excel, reporting, ERP and communication skills will be critical to your success.
