About the Role
Carbal is seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Worker to join our Commonwealth Home Support Program on a permanent part-time basis.
Working one-on-one with older people in their own homes, you'll help clients maintain their independence, dignity and connection to community through personal care, companionship, transport assistance and general wellbeing support.
This is a hands-on community role where you'll get to know the people you support rather than simply moving from task to task. Every day can be a little different,
but the purpose remains the same — helping older people continue living safely and independently at home.
What You'll Be Doing
Personal Care
- Assist clients with showering, dressing, grooming and personal hygiene
- Support mobility and encourage clients to maintain their independence
- Promote dignity, choice and wellbeing
- Monitor client wellbeing and report concerns when required
Community Support
- Provide companionship and social support
- Assist clients to attend appointments and community activities
- Provide transport assistance where required
- Encourage independence within the home and community
Working as Part of the Team
- Maintain accurate service records
- Work closely with the CHSP team to provide reliable, quality services
- Communicate changes or concerns regarding client wellbeing
- Promote safe work practices and high standards of care
These reflect the personal care, community support and team responsibilities in the existing position.
You'll Be a Great Fit If You...
Essential
- Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care, Home & Community Care or equivalent
- Have experience providing personal care in aged care, home care or community care
