The Role
We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Senior Event Manager to join our Corporate Events team, based in our Sydney headquarters.
This role is suited to an event professional with a proven track record of managing complex events from concept to completion. You will be responsible for the end-to-end management of a variety of Corporate events, ensuring all projects are delivered on time, on budget and to Lateral’s exceptionally high standards.
The successful candidate will be a confident client manager, a strong communicator and a proactive problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of events from initial brief through to post-event reporting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients.
- Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, tracking and reconciliation.
- Configure and administer EventsAir for registration, communications, reporting and attendee management.
- Oversee venue sourcing, supplier engagement and contract negotiations.
- Coordinate travel, accommodation and transportation requirements where required.
- Develop contingency plans, risk registers and event management documentation.
- Manage event operations on-site, including bump in, event delivery and bump out.
- Conduct post-event evaluations and reporting.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Event Coordinators and junior team members.
- Contribute to the ongoing development of systems, templates and best-practice event processes.
- Assist with new business opportunities and pitch responses when required.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Minimum five years’ experience in event management.
- Proven experience delivering events from concept through to completion.
- Strong experience managing event budgets and financial reconciliation.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Advanced organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong stakeholder, supplier and client management capabilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and EventsAir.
Highly Regarded
- Experience working within an event management agency environment.
- Extensive practical experience using EventsAir, including registration management, reporting and attendee communications.
- Experience delivering conferences, incentive programs, exhibitions and roadshows.
