About the role:

Birralee Kindergarten is a stand-alone community kindergarten affiliated with Lady Gowrie Queensland.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Early Childhood Teacher to lead our Kangaroo Group commencing in 2027.

You will lead a high-quality, play-based and child-responsive kindergarten program, working alongside an experienced team to create a safe, inclusive and engaging environment where children can learn, play and thrive.

Key responsibilities:

- Lead, plan, document and evaluate a play-based kindergarten program that supports children's learning and development.

- Create a safe, inclusive and culturally responsive environment that supports belonging, wellbeing and children's agency.

- Build robust relationships with children and families and communicate about children's learning, development and wellbeing.

- Support individual needs, including reasonable adjustments, positive behaviour guidance and emotional regulation, in collaboration with educators, families and external professionals.

- Participate in Bush Kindy, nature play and the wider kindergarten program.

- Lead and support the educator team and contribute to reflective practice, the Quality Improvement Plan and continuous improvement.

- Maintain compliance with the NQF, NQS, QKLG and relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

- Participate in staff meetings and key kindergarten events, including occasional events outside regular kindergarten hours.

What we're looking for:

- An ACECQA-approved Early Childhood Teaching qualification,



or recognition by ACECQA as meeting the requirements to work as an Early Childhood Teacher.

- Current Queensland Blue Card or Exemption Card, or eligibility to obtain one.

- Current First Aid and CPR, including asthma and anaphylaxis training.

- Required child protection and child safety training, including GECCKO.

- Strong knowledge of early childhood learning frameworks, play-based and relationship-based practice and contemporary teaching approaches.

- Demonstrated experience planning and delivering age-appropriate learning experiences.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build respectful relationships and confidently lead and support a team.

- Confidence supporting children with diverse developmental, communication, sensory, social and emotional needs, including through inclusive and neuro-affirming practice.

- Strong organisational skills and a commitment to reflection, collaboration, professional development and continuous improvement.

- Warmth, patience, professionalism and a genuine commitment to children.

- Willingness to participate in nature play, Bush Kindy and appropriate risk-taking.

- Experience in a community-based kindergarten or not-for-profit setting will be highly regarded.
