We’re seeking a Product Finisher – Sandblaster to support our Powder Coating and Steel departments — a role that starts casual with the prospect to transition into permanent full-time for the right candidate.

About the Role

As a key part of our production team, you’ll be responsible for preparing steel playground components for finishing. Your focus will be sandblasting and weld finishing to support our high-quality powder coating process.

Sandblasting & Finishing Operations

Clean welds and remove spatter from steel components

Prepare components for sandblasting, including batching and loading the blasting booth

Operate sandblasting equipment safely and efficiently

Coat, seal, and finish welds to required specifications

Unload and inspect finished components following blasting

Sort and batch components ready for powder coating

Load and unload the powder coating line

Conduct routine care, cleaning, and basic maintenance of the blast unit, machinery, and tools

Maintain clean, tidy, and debris-free work areas, including blasting booths and surrounding zones

Steel Fabrication & Production Support

Assist the steel department with cutting, linishing, drilling, bending, and pressing of steel sections and components

Support the loading of jigs and setup of steelwork machinery

Assist with basic machinery and compressor maintenance





Fetch, reposition, sort, and manage stock, components, and raw materials as required

Work Health & Safety Responsibilities

Comply with all Work Health and Safety policies, procedures, safe work method statements (SWMS), and instructions

Correctly use all required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respiratory protection, hearing protection, eye protection, and protective clothing

Safely operate sandblasting equipment, forklifts, powder coating lines, and all tools in accordance with training and procedures

Ensure blasting booth equipment, and work areas are maintained in a safe condition

Follow correct procedures for handling, storage, and disposal of blasting media, coatings, and waste materials

Participate in toolbox talks, safety meetings, and WHS training as required

Quality, Productivity & Continuous Improvement

Ensure preparation and finishes meet company and product quality standards.

Work to production schedules and meet agreed output targets

Report defects, rework requirements, and equipment issues promptly

Skills Required

Proven experience in sandblasting operations

Experience in coating processes

Ability to safely operate basic metalworking machinery and tools, including grinders and hand tools

Demonstrated accuracy in measuring and marking materials

Forklift operation and general materials handling experience

Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality control & safety
