We are currently recruiting for an experienced Payroll Compliance Officer to join our team in a dedicated governance and assurance role.

About this role

This specialist position is responsible for ensuring payroll operations comply with legislative, industrial and internal requirements. You will play a key role in identifying and managing payroll risks, conducting compliance reviews and audits, supporting remediation activities, and driving continuous improvements to payroll systems, controls and governance frameworks.

We are seeking a reliable and adaptable professional who can work effectively under pressure, manage ad hoc responsibilities, and thrive both independently and as part of a team.

What you'll be doing

- Monitor compliance with Modern Awards, Enterprise Agreements, Fair Work legislation and taxation requirements.

- Conduct payroll compliance reviews, audits and assurance activities.

- Maintain payroll compliance registers and prepare reporting for management and leadership.

- Identify and manage payroll risks, control gaps and remediation activities.

- Review payroll controls, reconciliations, variances and exception reporting.

- Lead historical payroll reviews and remediation projects.

- Support payroll system improvements, testing and compliance configuration.

- Provide payroll compliance advice and training to key stakeholders.

What we're looking for

- Experience in payroll compliance, audit,



governance or risk management.

- Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, awards and EBAs.

- Understanding of Fair Work, superannuation and payroll tax requirements.

- Advanced analytical skills with strong attention to detail.

- Strong Excel and payroll systems experience (Roubler or similar desirable).

- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
