The SESLHD Mental Health Service is a specialised clinical service, providing care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area. We provide care within both hospital and community settings to support people living with mental illness at times when acute intervention is needed, or to remain well in their community and lead their own recovery.

The Role

Want to make a difference to the lives of young people? An exciting professional development opportunity exists to gain experience in the early intervention mental health space as an Exercise Physiologist. The Exercise Physiologist will be responsible for 1:1 work with young people as well as developing and supporting a health and exercise group program that runs as part of the headspace After Hours Pilot Program.
This position will be shift work - shifts include 08:30-17:00, 09:30- 18:00 and 11:00-19:30.

headspace Bondi Junction is part of the SESLHD Mental Health Service. The SESLHD Mental Health Service provides specialised clinical services and care to a local population of over 930,000 residents in the Sydney metropolitan area (in both hospital and community settings). Headspace Bondi Junction At headspace Bondi Junction you will work within a highly energetic and passionate team working with young people with mild to moderate mental health concerns. Selection Criteria:
1. Qualifications in accordance with Schedule C of the NSW Health Service Health Professionals (State) Award and eligibility for membership with Exercise Sports Science, Australia; hold a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science, or other qualification deemed equivalent by the employer; and demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development.
2. Demonstrated core competency skills in in delivering evidence-based exercise physiology services to consumers with mental illness or transferrable skills.
3. Demonstrated high level written, verbal and interpersonal skills, to both engage patients/clients and work effectively with the multi-disciplinary team.
4. Demonstrated ability to exercise independent professional judgement in the provision of clinical care using evidence based practice, commensurate with years of experience.
5. Demonstrated commitment to the use and application of professional and clinical digital technologies.
6. Demonstrated participation in quality improvement processes, commensurate with years of experience.
7. Demonstrated ability to respond to the demands and pressures of the role while managing time effectively.
8. Current drivers licence or a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position.
