About the role

Sparrow's Philly Group LTD is seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our team in Fitzroy, Victoria. This is a full time position offering an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise in a dynamic hospitality environment. As Chef, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of food preparation, menu development, and kitchen operations that define our establishment. Your leadership and creative flair will directly contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences that keep our guests returning.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and cooking a variety of dishes according to established recipes and quality standards

- Managing kitchen operations and maintaining food safety and hygiene protocols at all times

- Overseeing food preparation stations and ensuring consistent quality across all plates

- Contributing to menu development and suggesting innovative dishes that align with our culinary vision

- Training, supervising and mentoring kitchen staff to maintain high performance standards

- Managing inventory, ordering supplies and monitoring food costs to optimise profitability

- Collaborating with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery

- Maintaining a clean, organised and efficient kitchen environment

- Adhering to all food safety regulations and internal policies

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Chef or in a senior kitchen role within a hospitality setting

- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, HACCP principles and kitchen hygiene practices

- Advanced culinary skills with the ability to prepare diverse cuisines to a high standard

- Experience in menu planning and food costing





- Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and manage a kitchen team

- Time management abilities and the capacity to work under pressure during service periods

- Formal culinary qualifications or equivalent professional experience

- Knowledge of contemporary cooking techniques and food trends

- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays as required
