About the Role
We are seeking a distinguished and passionate Associate Professor or Professor, Exercise and Sport Science to provide leadership in research, teaching and professional activities in the Department of Biomedical, Health and Exercise Science within the School of Health Sciences.

In this role, you will contribute to the strategic direction of the department and the school as well as the accreditation, development and delivery of curriculum in undergraduate and postgraduate entry-level courses delivering exercise and sport science curriculum through different media, including face-to-face, online and blended learning.

As part of this appointment, you will also fulfill the role of Course Director (for three years and is renewable) and will provide high-level academic, research and professional leadership in the Exercise and Sports Science course. You will be aligned to one or more of the following areas within exercise and sport science: exercise physiology, sports technology, the ageing athlete, physical activity, exercise prescription and programming.

We are seeking an academic who will be committed to building two-way teaching and research partnerships in Australia and internationally with a passion to lead, innovate and embrace diversity to enrich the opportunities of colleagues and students in the delivery of the undergraduate and postgraduate courses, and who is enthusiastic about developing the Exercise and Sports Science profile of Swinburne University.

About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:

- A national and international reputation as a leader in teaching and/or research and/or scholarship in Exercise and Sports Science with demonstrated academic leadership ability.
- Demonstrated experience and leadership in Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) external accreditation and academic management.
- A distinguished record of high-quality teaching in areas of Exercise and Sports Science.
- Strong track record in Exercise and Sports Science academic program management and development.
- Demonstrated experience in tertiary teaching, including a record of co-ordination, curriculum development and teaching Exercise and Sport Science, and Exercise Physiology.
- Demonstrated research excellence and leadership,



and a commitment to research in the university context with a track record of publishing in Q1 and Q2 journals.

Qualifications

- A doctoral qualification in Exercise and Sport Science or a closely related discipline.
- Accredited Exercise Physiologist (AEP) or Accredited Exercise Scientist (AES) with ESSA.
- Tertiary teaching qualification or equivalent is preferred.
