About the role
AIPU is a 12-bed psychiatric unit that assesses and treats Adolescents 13-17 years of age. The clinical psychologist is an integral part of the MDT and will coordinate the treatment and care for admitted adolescents and their families. The incumbent will also contribute to the group program ,deliver responsive evidence based treatment and provide discipline specific psychological assessments as required.
About you
To be successful in this role you will possess:
- Full registration or eligibility for full registration as a Psychologist by the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA)
- Hold a Masters or Doctoral coursework qualification in Clinical Psychology that has been approved by the PBA
- Registration endorsement, or eligibility for endorsement in the Approved Area of Practice of Clinical Psychology.
- Skills and experience in discipline specific formal assessments of Adolescents and their families
- Highly developed interpersonal and leadership experience
- A strong commitment to high-quality care
- The ability to work as part of a diverse team
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice). Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment.
Those that are offered and/or start between January and April do not require an up to date vaccination for Influenza to progress providing they are aware of its requirement later in the year. Those that are offered and/or start between May and December require the up to date Influenza vaccination prior to offer.
