The Role

This senior role has clear responsibility for Waratah’s advocacy, community outreach, education and prevention, promotion and Crisis Response Service (CRS) programs. You will join the leadership team and have genuine scope to strengthen how these services operate, grow and respond to community need.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer and based in Bunbury, you will lead staff across these programs; manage the CRS roster and coverage; monitor caseloads, response times and quality benchmarks; and ensure practical safety processes are used. You will set priorities, manage budgets and resources, and advise on performance, risk and service development.

You will extend Waratah’s education and prevention work across schools, workplaces and community settings, including social media and promotion. You will build partnerships, progress suitable grant opportunities, test practical new approaches, and embed culturally responsive and inclusive practice. About you





- A relevant tertiary qualification and substantial senior management experience in community services, preferably advocacy, outreach, education and prevention, crisis response, family and domestic violence or sexual violence. Equivalent qualifications and extensive relevant experience will be considered.

- Strong people leadership experience, including supervision, rostering, workforce and workload planning, coaching, development and formal performance management.

- Proven ability to design, improve and evaluate community-service programs, service models, procedures and safe work practices.

- Demonstrated use of caseload information, service data, KPIs or benchmarks, budgets and reporting to manage quality, capacity, accountability and outcomes.

- Experience building partnerships and developing grants, tenders or other funding opportunities, together with the ability to extend education, community engagement or promotional activity.

- High-level knowledge of trauma-informed, client-centred, culturally responsive and inclusive practice, with sound judgement in relation to risk, safeguarding, privacy and work health and safety.

- A current unrestricted driver’s licence, travel across Waratah’s service area and required screening clearances are mandatory. Crisis or after-hours response leadership is desirable.
