About the Role

The Guidance Counsellor plays a key role in supporting the academic, social, emotional and behavioural wellbeing of students across Years 5-12 at Padua College. As a member of the Students and Wellbeing Team, the position provides counselling, assessment, wellbeing programs, case management and student protection leadership across both our Greccio (Years 5 & 6) and Assisi (Years 7 - 12) campuses.

This is a full-time position, commencing Term One 2027, on a permanent/ongoing basis.

Key Responsibilities / Duties:

- Foster the personal development and mental health of all students, including those at risk and with learning needs.
- Provide counselling and support for students’ personal, social, emotional, vocational, and educational needs.
- Facilitate small-group and classroom-based interventions focusing on resilience, emotional literacy, social skills, friendship development, self-regulation and positive peer relationships.
- Contribute to the design and implementation of whole-school wellbeing initiatives that promote student engagement, belonging and positive mental health outcomes across Years 5-12.




- Work proactively with teaching staff to identify emerging student wellbeing concerns and implement early intervention strategies.

To be considered for this role, you should have:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counselling, Psychology, Education, or a related field.




- Current registration, accreditation or membership with a relevant professional body (e.g. ACA, PACFA, APHRA/Australian Psychological Society, as applicable).
- Queensland teacher registration is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience working with children and adolescents, preferably within an educational setting.
