Our Opportunity

Location: Solomon - Fortescue's Solomon mine is located on the traditional lands of the Eastern Guruma and Yindjibarndi peoples.

Roster: 7D/7N/14R - FIFO ex Perth

As a Heavy-Duty Fitter within the Shutdown Team, you will support the safe and efficient execution of planned maintenance activities across diggers, drills and associated heavy mobile equipment.

Key Responsibilities

- Complete shutdown maintenance on diggers, drills and heavy mobile equipment
- Carry out inspections, repairs and component replacements
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults
- Work to shutdown schedules and maintenance plans
- Complete tasks safely, efficiently and to a high standard
- Support breakdowns and additional maintenance activities as required
- Maintain accurate work records and communicate job progress
- Follow Fortescue safety, environmental and operational procedures

Qualifications And Experience

- Australian-recognised trade certificate as a Heavy-Duty Fitter, Diesel Mechanic or Mobile Plant Equipment
- Experience maintaining diggers, drills or similar heavy mobile equipment
- Previous mining or heavy industry experience




- Strong mechanical and hydraulic fault-finding skills
- Shutdown maintenance experience is highly regarded
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced team environment
- Solid communication and problem-solving skills
- Current Australian working rights and relevant site qualifications
