Specialist Infectious Diseases Physician

Up to 42hpf available Fractional/Ongoing

The Royal Melbourne is one of Victoria’s largest hospitals providing a comprehensive range of health services including acute, sub-acute, general, and specialist medical services throughout inpatient and community-based facilities. We are also a proud part of the world-renowned Melbourne Biomedical Precinct, working in collaboration to advance research for continuous improvement of clinical care.

Unit Description

The Victorian Infectious Diseases Service (VIDS) provides inpatient and specialist clinic services, including management of travel and tropical diseases, HIV/AIDS, viral hepatitis, tuberculosis, community acquired and health-care associated infections, including infection in patients with impaired immunity.

We have a strong focus on links with public health, hospital-acquired infections and optimisation of antibiotic use.

About the roles: VIDS Outpatient Clinics

- Monday AM fortnightly Hepatitis Clinic
- Tuesday AM Weekly ID Clinic
- Wednesday AM ID Clinic
- Friday AM fortnightly Tuberculosis Clinic
- VIDS inpatient ward service
- Anti-Microbial Stewardship team leadership
- Clinical Support roles with the unit

About You

- Registration with the Medical Board of Australia (AHPRA) or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia (for international Medical Graduates)




- MBBS or equivalent tertiary qualifications
- Fellowship
