ABOUT THE ROLE
Twentythree Projects is seeking a Purchasing Officer to join our joinery division on a part-time basis (20-30hrs per week). This role is integral to our operations, ensuring that procurement activities are executed efficiently and cost-effectively. As a Purchasing Officer, you will play a vital role in managing our supply chain, sourcing materials and services, and maintaining relationships with our key suppliers. This position offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst providing meaningful contribution to our organisation's success.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
- Identifying and evaluating potential suppliers and vendors to ensure quality, cost-effectiveness and reliability
- Preparing and issuing purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
- Negotiating terms, pricing and delivery schedules with suppliers to optimise cost savings
- Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with relevant departments to ensure adequate stock availability
- Processing invoices and resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, delivery notes and supplier invoices
- Maintaining detailed records of purchases, supplier information and procurement documentation
- Communicating with internal stakeholders regarding procurement status, lead times and any supply chain issues
- Assisting with the development and implementation of procurement strategies to improve efficiency
- Supporting the management of supplier contracts and ensuring compliance with agreed terms
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement role within the manufacturing industry
- Robust knowledge of procurement processes, inventory management and supplier relationship management
- Proficiency with procurement software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent negotiation skills with the ability to achieve favourable terms whilst maintaining positive supplier relationships
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously
- Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in procurement, supply chain management or logistics (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience with cost reduction initiatives and process improvement
