The Company
n
Our client is a listed investment platform and established funds management business.
n
Following a period of strategic repositioning, the organisation is entering a new phase of growth and capital deployment across its investment platform.
n
The legal team plays a central role in enabling that strategy and its integration with the business means this role offers unusual breadth, autonomy and visibility for a senior lawyer operating below GC-level.
n
The Role
n
This is a broad funds and corporate role combining transactional work, governance and strategic legal support to the investment team.
n
Working closely with the CLCO, the successful candidate will operate as a trusted internal adviser across multiple parts of the business, helping manage transactions, guide internal stakeholders and support the evolution of the legal function.
n
Responsibilities will include:
n
n
- Supporting corporate transactions and capital activity across the investment platform
n
- Advising on fund structures and fund establishment
n
- Assisting with corporate actions, restructures and equity transactions
n
- Coordinating listed disclosure obligations and market announcementsAdvising the executive team on strategic legal issues and risk management
n
- Managing internal workstreams during transactions and coordinating external advisers where required
n
n
About You
n
You are a senior funds / corporate lawyer that enjoys working closely with the business and using your legal skills in a practical way.
n
You are likely to bring:
n
n
- ~15 PQE;
n
- Strong funds management and/or corporate transactions experience;
n
- Experience advising on complex corporate structures or capital transactions;
n
- Familiarity with listed environments, disclosure obligations or governance frameworks (not essential).
n
n
Most importantly, you will be someone who enjoys autonomy, commerciality and being challenged to use their judgement in a role where the legal team is expected to help move the business forward.
n
