Our Power team works throughout Australasia on high-value projects from traditional high voltage power transmission to infrastructure and industrial projects with many energy sector clients.

We've honed our skills over many years providing solutions to our power generation, renewables, transmission and distribution clients across Australasia.

With a robust pipeline of work, our team is growing. We are looking for an experienced HV Design/Primary Engineer to continue to grow and shape the success of our Power team.

n

In This Melbourne Or Sydney Based Role You Will

n

n
- Lead the technical delivery of Primary/HV projects from feasibility, concept designs, detail designs and owner's engineer
n
- Develop, mentor and lead junior engineers
n
- Lead the primary design of high voltage substations and other related infrastructure
n
- Work in collaboration with engineering and project teams to deliver timely and accurate documentation and reports
n
- Lead teams of engineers to undertake larger packages of work, including training and mentoring junior staff
n
- Provide concept and detailed design and review of specifications, drawings etc
n
- Maintain expected current design standards as set by legislative requirements
n
- Carry out quality checks and procedures
n
- Draw upon your own technical expertise, and those of the broader team to deliver high-quality technical advice to our client
n
- Contribute in a team environment and drive delivery excellence across the Power team
n
- Play a supporting role and contribute to strategic bids and tenders in future energy across ANZ and support cross business line activities
n

What We'll Like About You

You are a confident and capable senior engineer who is looking to be part of a growing team, passionate to work on iconic projects and seeking to enhance your career.

n

Your technical skills are based on solid fundamentals and have been proven through the delivery of robust and innovative power engineering projects and designs.

n

You are comfortable leading teams and mentoring junior engineers.

n

You will also have varied Electrical Engineering skills which will allow you to contribute to the power business in a broader sense.

n

Preferably, you will have proven capability across a range of the following areas:

n

n
- Understanding of a range of engineering disciplines and experience in electricity transmission, distribution and traction power projects
n
- Experience within substation primary engineering position across HV/EHV substations design (up to 500kV ideally)
n
- Experience in use of engineering software in the design (preferred)
n
- Understanding of design and how it impacts on construction
n
- Organised, adaptable and able to think outside the box
n
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to manage stakeholder relationships
n
- Excellent communicator; able to explain complex issues to a range of stakeholders (internal and external)
n
- Results-oriented with good technical engineering basis in either transmission, distribution or rail traction power and managing project delivery
n
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering
