Role Description

The Lawyer will work on-site in the Newcastle in a full-time capacity, providing legal and representation to a diverse range of clients primarily in workers compensation matters.

Day-to-day responsibilities include managing client files, drafting and reviewing documents, preparing advice, and representing clients in negotiations, mediations, and Personal Injury Commission proceedings. The role involves liaising with clients, counsel, and solicitors, conducting legal research, and ensuring matters are progressed efficiently.

Qualifications

- Admission as a Lawyer in Australia and a current practising certificate (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Demonstrated experience in one or more core practice areas (e.g., workers compensation law, wills and estates, or litigation).
- Strong legal research, analytical,



and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply legislation and case law effectively.
- Proficiency in drafting clear, accurate legal documents, correspondence, and advice tailored to client needs.
- Effective client communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to build trust and manage expectations.
- Sound time management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines.
- Commitment to ethical practice, confidentiality, and high professional standards, aligned with the firm’s values.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a small to medium-sized firm environment.
- Comfort using up-to-date practice management systems and technology to support efficient, high-quality service delivery.
