A leading international engineering and consulting business is seeking an experienced Energy Market Sector Lead to drive the growth of its Energy practice across Australia and the wider APAC region.

Backed by a global organisation with thousands of technical specialists across multiple continents, this is a unique opportunity to build and lead an Energy business within an established platform that already delivers major projects across infrastructure, buildings, data centres, power systems, and renewable energy.

This role is ideal for a commercially minded leader who combines strong technical credibility with proven experience developing teams, winning work, and building long‑term client relationships within the energy sector.

The Opportunity

As Energy Market Sector Lead, you will be responsible for establishing and growing the Energy business across Australia, leveraging both local and international resources to support project delivery and market expansion.

You will play a key role in shaping strategy, developing client relationships, growing capability, and positioning the business as a recognised leader in the energy transition.

The role offers significant autonomy and the opportunity to build a team while accessing an extensive global network of technical experts across transmission, substations, renewables, and power infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities





- Develop and execute the Energy sector growth strategy across Australia.
- Identify and secure opportunities within transmission, renewable energy, BESS, substations, and grid infrastructure.
- Build and maintain senior relationships with utilities, renewable developers, asset owners, contractors, and government stakeholders.
- Lead business development and market engagement activities.
- Build, mentor, and grow a high‑performing Energy team.
- Provide executive oversight across major energy and power infrastructure projects.
- Collaborate with international teams and leverage global capability to support local growth.
- Raise the profile of the business within the Australian energy market.

What We’re Looking For

- 15+ years' experience within the energy, power, transmission, or renewable energy sectors.
- Demonstrated success leading and growing a business unit, market sector, or engineering practice.
- Strong industry network across utilities, developers, contractors, and asset owners.
- Experience delivering and winning work across:
- Transmission & Distribution
- High Voltage Substations (132kV to 500kV)
- Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)
- Grid Connection Infrastructure
- Proven people leadership and team‑building experience.
- Solid commercial acumen and client‑facing capability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate autonomously.
