Technical Lead – Power BI

Location: Sydney | Contract: 6 Months

Overview: Design, develop, and manage enterprise‐grade reporting and analytics solutions. The role requires expertise in data visualisation, Power BI development, and data modelling to deliver a world‐class user experience.

Key Responsibilities
n

- End‐to‐End Power BI Development
n
- Design, build, test, and deploy secure, high‐performance Power BI reports, dashboards, and apps.
n
- Create and optimise data models using Power Query (M) and DAX. Implement relationships, calculated columns, measures, and row‐level security.
n
- User Experience & Visualisation
n
- Apply best practices in UX and visualisation to create intuitive, self‐service reporting tools that drive adoption.
n
- Power BI Expertise
n
- Advanced data modelling (star/snowflake schemas)
n
- Strong DAX skills for complex calculations
n
- Proficiency in Power Query (M) for ETL processes
n
- Performance tuning for reports and models
n
- Design engaging,
user‐friendly dashboards based on cognitive and visual design principles.
n
- Technical Proficiency
n
- Robust SQL skills for data querying and manipulation
n
- Experience connecting to diverse data sources (data warehouses, Azure SQL, APIs, etc.)
n

Qualifications & Skills
n
n
- Expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and SQL
n
- Experience with enterprise data warehouses and cloud services (Azure SQL, APIs)
n
- Proven track record of delivering end‐to‐end BI solutions with focus on performance and user experience
n
- Strong analytical and problem‐solving skills
n
- Ability to work independently in a contract environment
n
