AECOM's environmental practice is dedicated to helping industries, clients and governments meet their environmental responsibilities while protecting the natural workplace. We provide advisory and technical services to ensure compliance, manage impacts, and reduce risks, including obtaining permits and approvals, decommissioning and restoring contaminated sites, and tackling climate change challenges and resilience. We focus on preserving habitats, water quality, stakeholder engagement and cultural resources, promoting a holistic approach to environmental impact management at every project stage.
Our hydrogeology team partners with clients across the mining, energy, infrastructure and government sectors, delivering technically robust groundwater solutions that support some of Western Australia's major mining, environmental, and civil engineering projects.
How you'll make a difference
- Plan, coordinate and deliver hydrogeological investigations and groundwater studies across mining, infrastructure and environmental projects throughout Western Australia.
- Lead field programs, including drilling oversight, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring and sampling, while maintaining a strong focus on health, safety and quality.
- Develop conceptual hydrogeological models and prepare groundwater assessments, licensing applications, regulatory documentation, technical reports and proposals.
- Manage defined projects or technical workstreams, including coordinating resources, budgets, schedules and deliverables.
- Build effective relationships with clients, regulators and multidisciplinary project teams, while providing guidance and support to junior hydrogeologists.
The qualities that help you thrive
- 5+ years of experience delivering hydrogeological investigations and groundwater assessments, ideally within Western Australian mining, environmental consulting or related industries.
- Strong technical capability across hydrogeological conceptualisation, drilling supervision, aquifer testing, groundwater monitoring, mine dewatering, water supply and regulatory approvals.
- Experience managing projects or technical workstreams, including coordinating field programs, budgets, schedules and project deliverables.
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high-quality technical reports and proposals, interpret complex environmental and geoscientific datasets.
- Ability to work independently, collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance or mentoring to less experienced team members.
- Tertiary qualifications in Hydrogeology, Geology, Earth Science or a related discipline, along with a current manual driver's licence and willingness to undertake regular fieldwork.
