Our vision: To be the leading grower and producer of Australian wine for the world.

As our company continues to grow and evolve, we are seeking an experienced and proactive Human Resources Manager to lead our Human Resources function and help deliver our strategic people priorities.

About the role

Based at our Kent Town office (or you may prefer to be based in the Riverland), you will report directly to the Managing Director and lead a small HR team across our operations.

This is an important leadership role responsible for shaping our people strategies, providing trusted and practical advice, and ensuring our HR practices support Kingston’s values, strategic objectives and operational requirements.

You will work closely with managers and leaders across the business and play a central role in creating a positive, capable and high-performing workplace.

We welcome applications from candidates seeking either full-time or permanent part-time employment, working between 23 hours (0.6 FTE) and 38 hours (full-time) per week.

The position includes regular, planned visits to our Riverland winery and vineyard operations, providing the opportunity to build strong relationships with our teams and gain a genuine understanding of the business from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the full range of operational HR functions across the organisation.

Provide practical and accurate advice on employment legislation, industrial relations, modern awards and enterprise agreement compliance.

Support and coach managers in employee relations, performance management, recruitment, workforce planning, and learning and development.

Develop and implement people strategies that support Kingston’s business objectives and workplace culture.

Ensure HR policies, procedures and employment documentation remain current, compliant and fit for purpose.

Manage HR and winery administration budgets, identify process improvements and support cost-effective practices.

Oversee winery administration functions, including reception and support services.

Coordinate community engagement initiatives, including school achievement programs and local sponsorships.

What you will bring to the role

At least three years’ experience in a senior HR generalist or HR management role.

Solid knowledge of Australian employment legislation, modern awards, industrial relations and contemporary HR practices.

Demonstrated experience managing employee relations and supporting managers through complex workplace matters.

A proactive, practical and solutions-focused approach.

Strong communication, coaching and relationship-building skills.

High emotional intelligence, sound judgement, professionalism and attention to detail.

Experience in manufacturing, agriculture or the wine industry will be highly regarded.

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business or a related discipline are preferred.

Why join Kingston Estate Wines?

Join a values-driven organisation grounded in Accountability, Teamwork, Continuous Improvement, Integrity and Respect.

Take ownership of the HR function and help shape our culture and strategic people initiatives.

Work closely with a supportive and collaborative Executive Team.

Be part of a proudly South Australian family-owned company with a strong global presence.

Receive a highly competitive salary package and benefits, including wine and uniform allowances.

Kingston Estate Wines is an equal opportunity employer committed to creating a respectful, inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.

The winery was built in 1985 on the corner of the family property next to our original vineyard as well as the family home.

Today the winery can be considered two wineries in one: the original winery and the modern extension.

The original winery is where we make our small batch super premium wines giving us the flexibility and control to develop parcels of wine into exciting styles that truly reflect the varieties and regions from which they come.
