Your new role
n
As the EL1 Finance Manager, you will provide expert leadership in the development, implementation and review of travel policy frameworks. You will lead a small team, manage stakeholder relationships and deliver policy solutions that support organisational compliance and operational effectiveness.
n
Key responsibilities include:
n
n
- Leading travel policy development, implementation and review activities
n
- Providing expert advice on financial, governance and policy frameworks
n
- Managing compliance reporting and policy assurance activities
n
- Analysing complex policy issues and recommending practical solutions
n
- Producing high-quality briefs, reports and submissions for senior stakeholders
n
- Building and maintaining solid internal and external stakeholder relationships
n
- Leading, mentoring and developing team members
n
- Managing priorities, resources and business outcomes within agreed timeframes
n
- Identifying emerging risks,
opportunities and areas for continuous improvement
n
n
What you'll need to succeed
n
n
- Australian Citizen with a Baseline security clearance as a minimum
n
n
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
n
n
- Experience leading policy development, review and implementation activities
n
- Strong understanding of government governance, compliance or financial frameworks
n
- Proven leadership experience, including team management and capability development
n
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making capability
n
- Exceptional written communication skills, including reports, briefs and submissions
n
- High attention to detail and a commitment to quality outcomes
n
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a complex environment
n
n
Desirable experience includes working within policy, governance, compliance or finance functions within the APS or broader government sector.
