Senior / Associate / Associate Director – Temporary Works Engineer | Major NSW Transport Infrastructure

ON OFFER

$160k - $200k + Super (Package structured to match your expertise & delivery capability)

Defined Career Progression | Ideal whether you are a Senior Engineer stepping up to Associate, or an Associate looking for a fast-track pathway to Associate Director

Pure Technical Leadership | Run projects and lead delivery with zero BD or sales pressure

Elite Technical Culture | National consultancy backing with the agility of a focused, expert team

Forward Momentum | Defined pathway to Senior Associate & Partner leadership roles

THE OPPORTUNITY

You’ve done the Tier 1/Tier 2 contractor or consultancy years. You know how complex construction actually works on site, not just on paper.

Whether you are a seasoned Senior Engineer ready for your next title step, an established Associate, or an Associate Director looking to focus purely on high-caliber technical delivery (without BD pressures), this role offers real influence.

We are looking for an ambitious, hands-on engineer to take full technical ownership of project delivery across major Sydney infrastructure. You’ll be the technical anchor for the team: running projects end-to-end, serving as the CPEng sign-off authority for complex designs, and leading a high-performing group of engineers.

PROJECTS IN MOTION & ON THE HORIZON

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

- Project Delivery & Sign-Off:

Lead complex temporary works designs from concept to completion, serving as the CPEng sign-off authority.
- Team Leadership & Mentorship: Guide, train, and mentor a small, dedicated team of engineers—building their technical capability and delivery standards.
- Commercial Management: Hands‑on oversight of project P&Ls; for mid‑tier packages, fee proposals, invoicing, and resource scheduling.
- Client Engagement: Work directly with Tier-1 contractors, project directors, and site teams on complex buildability and construction methodology challenges.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

- Qualifications: Bachelor of Civil/Structural Engineering + CENG / CPEng / NER (Essential for project certification).
- Experience: Open to strong Senior, Associate, or Associate Director candidates with 8+ years of structural/temporary works design experience within an Australian consultancy or contractor background.
- Technical Mastery: Deep expertise in complex temporary works - jumpforms, crane bases/grillages, deep excavation/retention, falsework, heavy rigging, and construction staging.
- Delivery Mindset: Proven ability to run projects autonomously, manage small project finances, and keep delivery on schedule.
- Communication: Exceptional client-facing skills, leadership presence, and a cooperative team-first approach.
- Eligibility: Permanent Residency or Australian Citizenship required.

(Note: Applicants without prior Australian Temporary Works consultancy or contracting experience will not be considered.)
