About the role
n Comuna Cantina is seeking an experienced Chef to join our team in our City venue. As the Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our kitchen, ensuring efficient and high-quality delivery of meals. This is a full time role based in Brisbane CBD.

What you'll be doing

n

n
- Manage all aspects of kitchen operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and budgeting
n
- Ensure the kitchen adheres to all food safety and hygiene regulations
n
- Hire, develop and manage the kitchen team
n
- Oversee the training and development of kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food preparation and presentation
n
- Collaborate with the front-of-house team to align kitchen and service operations
n
- Implement and monitor systems and procedures to optimise kitchen efficiency
n
- Develop and refine menu items to meet customer demands and dietary requirements
n
- Manage food cost and wastage to maintain profitability
n

What we're looking for

n

n
- 1 year of experience as a Chef, Kitchen Manager, or equivalent role in the hospitality industry
n
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen operations
n
- Strong leadership and team management skills
n
- Ability to multitask, prioritise, and work under pressure
n
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
n
- Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery,



Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts
