On behalf of a large Federal Government Agency, DFP Recruitment is seeking experienced policy professionals for multiple EL1 Assistant Director - Strategic Policy opportunities.
This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to nationally significant reform initiatives, providing strategic policy advice, leading complex projects and influencing outcomes in a agile and fast-paced environment. The role is available nationally and offers the chance to work on high-profile policy and implementation activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the delivery and implementation of complex policy and reform initiatives.
- Analyse complex policy issues and provide strategic advice and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- Prepare high-quality briefs, reports, presentations, correspondence and other strategic products.
- Build and maintain productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder engagement activities and influence policy implementation outcomes.
- Support branch leadership and foster a positive, high-performing team culture.
About You
- Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to translate complex information into clear and concise advice for senior executives and Ministers.
- Demonstrated experience working in complex, fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
- Highly developed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and communication skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and exercise sound judgement.
- Experience leading policy, reform, project or program outcomes.
Desirable
- Program governance and project planning experience.
- Leadership, coaching or mentoring capability.
- Experience within disability reform, social policy or related sectors.
- Experience delivering complex procurement outcomes.
