Tok Pisin language speakers with language teaching experience are invited to deliver a Tok Pisin language course for adult learners in a school setting.

$55 per hour + superannuation

ROLES

n

Deliver a Tok Pisin language course for adult learners in a school setting. You will work Monday to Friday, 0800–1630 with one-hour meal break.

DUTIES

n

- Deliver a Tok Pisin language course based on existing materials, under the supervision of a senior teacher
n
- Adapt lesson plans, conduct assessments and other administrative duties
n
- Review and enhance existing course materials and develop current materials if required
n
- Create engaging online activities to consolidate learning
n

Essential Criteria

n

n
- 1. Fluent in Tok Pisin language.
n
- 2. University-educated is preferred, ideally in education, teaching,



linguistics or translation
n
- 3. Minimum one year's experience teaching/tutoring English or Tok Pisin to adults
n
- 4. Sound knowledge of different approaches to language teaching (for Beginners or Advanced students)
n
- 5. Deep understanding of daily life and society in Papua New Guinea to support effective language teaching
n
- 6. Fluent in written and spoken English (including experience in translation or interpreting if any)
n
- 7. Familiar in the use of IT in language delivery and course development.
n
- 8. Proven experience in course development
n
- 9. Experience in assessment management and marking
n
- 10. Experience in translation or interpreting is desirable - international students or working holiday visa holders are welcomed to apply.
