At Sydney Tools, we're looking for an experienced Talent & HR Partner who can combine strong talent acquisition capability with practical, commercially focused HR support.

You’ll take ownership of your own business portfolio, partnering directly with leaders across recruitment, workforce planning, performance, employee relations, development, succession, engagement and recognition.

This is an opportunity for someone who already understands the fundamentals of HR and Talent Acquisition and is ready for greater autonomy, broader responsibility and direct exposure to senior leaders within a large, fast-growing national business.

You’ll join an experienced HR team while being trusted to manage your own portfolio, build strong relationships with leaders and influence people outcomes across the business.

What you’ll be doing

- Own end-to-end recruitment and talent strategy across your portfolio.
- Partner with leaders on workforce planning, organisational needs and hiring strategies.
- Provide practical HR advice and coaching to managers.
- Support performance management and employee relations matters.
- Identify talent and support succession and employee development initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement, recognition and retention initiatives.
- Partner with leaders to improve team capability and performance.
- Contribute to HR projects, systems and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Build trusted relationships with senior leaders and managers across the business.
- Use people and recruitment insights to identify trends and support better business decisions.

Your roadmap to success

Months 1–3





Build strong relationships across your portfolio, understand the operational setting and take ownership of recruitment and key people priorities.

Months 3–6

Establish yourself as a trusted partner to leaders, providing support across performance, employee relations, workforce planning, development and engagement.

Months 6–12

Take full ownership of the people lifecycle across your portfolio, proactively identifying workforce opportunities and becoming a key HR partner to your business leaders.

About you

You’ll bring solid experience across Talent Acquisition, Internal Recruitment or Human Resources, with the confidence to work directly with managers and senior stakeholders.

You’re commercially minded, organised and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly.

Most importantly, you’re looking for a role where you can take ownership rather than simply execute a recruitment brief.

You’ll ideally bring:

- Strong end-to-end recruitment experience.
- Exposure to broader HR or employee lifecycle matters.
- Confidence partnering with managers and senior stakeholders.
- Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
- Sound judgement and a practical, solutions-focused approach.

Previous HR/Talent experience within retail, operations, warehousing, sales or another fast-paced multi-site environment will be highly regarded.
