About the roles

n

GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria.

n

Nurses employed by GEO Healthcare work to deliver high-quality patient care to men in Victoria's public prisons. Nurses deliver health services which enhance and promote the health of people in prison through evidence-based, comprehensive and skilled nursing care within a prison setting.

n

Opportunities exist for Part Time Registered Nurses (up to 0.7FTE, 7 shifts per fortnight) at Beechworth Correctional Centre.

n

Nursing Staff will be employed under the terms of an Enterprise Agreement. Terms and conditions provided by this Agreement include:

n

- Registered Nurse Full-time salary range $74,481 - $102,248. Full-time salary adjusted for pro rata part-time hours.
n
- Base rate $37 - $51 per hour.
n
- Annual increments to salary for Enrolled and Registered nurses.
n
- Competitive Shift and Weekend Allowances.
n

Key Accountabilities & Requirements

n

n
- Appropriate nursing qualifications and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
n
- Must have current Immunisation Certificate.
n
- Minimum one year of post-registration clinical experience.
n
- Ability to work without direct, immediate supervision in performing the role.
n
- Ability to plan and coordinate patient care.
n
- Competence in clinical and problem solving skills.
n
- Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team.
n
- Ability to contribute to the skilled practice within the health facility.
n
- Competence in written and verbal communication skills.



Basic level of computer literacy.
n
- Clinical experience in a primary health care is desirable.
n

Other Requirements of the Role

n

n
- Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
n
- Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
n
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
n
- Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
n
- Hold an immunisation provider certificate or be willing to work towards obtaining certification.
n
- Onsite working (no hybrid or remote working).
n
