About the Role
We are seeking a Solicitor to join our Recovery and Insolvency team at Summer Lawyers in our Sydney CBD office. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing specialist legal advice and expertise in banking, finance and commercial litigation.
- Managing the day-to-day conduct of multiple files and workloads
- Drafting documentation relevant to banking, finance and insolvency matters
- Attending court appearances and instructing counsel in all Courts and jurisdictions
- Drafting Court documents including briefs to counsel, pleadings, affidavits, and applications
- Conducting legal research and providing advice on mortgage law and regulatory requirements
- Advising clients regularly on the status of their matters and recommending strategies
- Identifying,
developing and implementing practical solutions to complex legal transactions and litigation to achieve client objectives
- Assisting on mortgagee in possession sales
What We're Looking For
- A Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or Juris Doctor (JD) degree, and admission to practice law in Australia
- 0 to 2 years post qualification experience, preferably in banking and finance and, or disputes generally
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- A proactive, customer-focused approach and the ability to work effectively in a team workplace
- Demonstrated experience in ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks
- A keen interest in the banking and finance sector and the ability to manage a busy and challenging workload.

- Ability to manage high volumes of new files each month
