Job Description Summary
ConnectSydney are on the hunt for an experienced Traffic Manager to join our Rockdale team!
About the Role
ConnectSydney, a joint venture of Service Stream, Boral, and Johnson Controls, in partnership with Transport for NSW (TfNSW), is entrusted with the management of the Harbour Zone.
Our responsibilities encompass routine maintenance, strategic enhancements, and specialised projects aimed at bolstering Sydney's transport infrastructure.
The Traffic Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating and overseeing traffic management activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently and in compliance with TfNSW requirements, approved traffic management plans and relevant legislation.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day traffic management operations across the ConnectSydney network.
- Develop, review and approve Traffic Guidance Schemes (TGSs), Traffic Management Plans (TMPs), Vehicle Movement Plans (VMPs) and other traffic management documentation, where authorised.
- Collaborate with TfNSW, subcontractors and internal stakeholders to develop effective traffic management solutions and secure required approvals.
- Monitor compliance with Road Occupancy Licences (ROLs), approved traffic management plans and relevant TfNSW requirements.
- Coordinate stakeholders regarding traffic impacts, road occupancies and major closures to minimise disruption to customers and the community.
- Manage traffic management contractors and self-performed traffic management activities to ensure safe and efficient delivery of works.
- Ensure traffic management arrangements comply with legislative requirements, industry standards and safety best practice.
- Conduct audits, inspections and site reviews to verify compliance and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Maintain effective liaison with the Transport Management Centre (TMC), TfNSW, local authorities and other key stakeholders.
- Prepare traffic management reports, performance metrics and ROL KPI reporting to support compliance and operational performance.
About You
- Temporary Traffic Management (TTM) required
- Traffic Control (TC)
- Implement Traffic Control Plans (ITCP)
- Prepare Work Zone Traffic Management Plan (PWZTMP)
- Demonstrated experience in traffic and/or transport engineering.
- Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards, procedures and TfNSW technical directives relating to traffic management.
- A practical knowledge of current standards and practice for bicycle and pedestrian facilities.
- Experience in working in a team and a multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience with Rapid Plan, AutoCAD/ Mircostation/ 12D, JAMS/GIS Microsoft Office suite (Word, excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Current Driver's License
