Beacon Legal has partnered with a leading property business in the search for a Legal Counsel to join the Sydney office. This prospect would suit a lawyer with around 5+ years' experience who is looking to step into a broad and commercially significant role.

We're seeking a commercially minded and proactive property lawyer to join a high-performing legal team. The role offers exposure to acquisitions, disposals, development projects, construction, leasing and land sales within a major national property business.

About the Role

n

- Draft, review and negotiate construction, consultancy and development agreements.
n
- Support land acquisitions, disposals and development transactions from initial term sheet through to settlement.
n
- Advise on leasing matters, including agreements for lease and related development documentation.
n
- Prepare contracts and disclosure documents for land sales.
n




- Coordinate due diligence processes and manage online data rooms.
n
- Provide practical legal advice to development and commercial stakeholders.
n
- Manage external legal providers, transaction costs and matter progress.
n
- Support the General Manager Legal and broader team on major projects.
n
- Assist with the development of precedents, confidentiality agreements and internal processes.

What we're looking for

n

n
- Admitted to practise in Australia.
n
- Approximately 5+ years' experience in property law, gained in private practice or in-house.
n
- Experience advising on leasing and broader property transactions.
n
- Strong technical, commercial and stakeholder management skills.
n
- A proactive, adaptable and collaborative approach.
n
- Excellent communication, drafting and problem-solving ability.
n
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
n
- Experience with online data rooms and electronic execution platforms would be beneficial.
