Job Description
Plan Protected is a boutique specialist engineering consultancy delivering end-to-end consultancy for some of the most complex and fascinating projects in Australia. Our projects span across aerospace, space, aviation, defence, rail, and nuclear including:

The role
n
As part of the day‐to‐day tasks of the role, you will:
n
n
- Create and review Safety Assurance Plans for client projects that address the full system lifecycle
n
- Develop and review Safety Assurance Statements and Reports
n
- Provide justification of achievement of Safety So Far As is Reasonably Practicable (SFAIRP)
n
- Manage and review Hazard Logs associated with various projects
n
- Participate in and facilitate hazard identification and assessments such as PHA, SHA, FMECA, HAZOP, etc.
n
- Use engineering change management tools to ensure design modifications are adequately assessed
n
- Construct safety arguments using GSN and CAE
n
- Engage in the derivation of safety‐related requirements and in verifying and validating them through relevant project lifecycle stages
n
- Advise on the safe design and installation of safety‐critical systems
n
n
About you
n
n
- Relevant degree in engineering, computer science or risk/safety
n
- At least 2 years' experience working in Systems Safety / RAMS
n
- Experience working in a safety or systems engineering role within aviation or defence industries
n
- Authoring and editing safety plans and safety cases using GSN and/or CAE methodologies
n
- Demonstrated experience in the application of safety regulations such as International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) Regulations and Certification
n
- Thorough understanding of Australian safety‐related legislation such as WHS and CASR
n
- High level communication and negotiation skills, including advanced report‐writing skills
n
- Experience with Air Traffic Management Systems or communications systems
n
- Experienced with Space Industry Regulations and practices
n
- Airworthiness and Part 21.J Design Certification
n
