Female Carers with Tracheostomy Experience – Complex Care
Peartree Life Care is looking for experienced Female Carers with Tracheostomy experience to join our trusted Complex Care team in Northamptonshire.
This is an excellent prospect for a compassionate, reliable, and experienced carer who is confident supporting individuals with complex medical needs in their own home and within the community.
You will be providing high-quality, person-centred care while working closely with the individual, their family, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
This is a flexible contracting opportunity with the potential for ongoing, long-term placements.
Requirements – You Must Have
- Previous experience working in complex care.
- Hands-on experience supporting individuals with a tracheostomy.
- Confidence in following tracheostomy care plans and clinical instructions.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
- Good understanding of safeguarding and person-centred care.
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a wider care team.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Ability to work day and/or night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Reliable, professional, and compassionate approach to care.
Experience with some of the following would be advantageous:
- Tracheostomy care and suctioning.
- Ventilation support, including CPAP or other respiratory equipment.
- Mobility and moving & handling.
- Supporting complex medical equipment.
- Recognising and escalating changes in a person's condition.
Your Role Will Include
- Providing safe,
compassionate, and person-centred care in the individual's home.
- Supporting with tracheostomy care, including monitoring and following the prescribed care plan.
- Supporting with suctioning and respiratory care where trained and authorised.
- Monitoring for signs of respiratory distress, infection, or changes in condition and escalating concerns appropriately.
- Supporting with medication as required and in accordance with the care plan.
- Providing personal care, including washing, dressing, continence care, and hygiene.
- Supporting with PEG/NG feeding where applicable.
- Assisting with mobility, repositioning, and daily activities.
- Monitoring and recording vital signs where required.
- Supporting access to appointments and activities within the community.
- Maintaining accurate and timely care records.
- Working collaboratively with family members, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Following all clinical, safeguarding, health and safety, and infection‑control procedures.
