Accountant – Penrith, Cumbria£30,000 - £40,000 + Study Support + Benefits
Clark Wood are recruiting for an Accountant to join an established independent firm of Chartered Accountants in Penrith, Cumbria .
This role would suit an Accounts Assistant, Accounts Semi Senior, Semi Senior Accountant or AAT qualified Accountant looking to progress their career within accountancy practice.
You’ll work with a varied portfolio of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies , gaining experience across accounts preparation, tax, bookkeeping and general client work.

The Role

- Preparing year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies
- Preparing and assisting with personal tax returns
- Supporting with corporation tax and tax compliance
- Bookkeeping and VAT work
- Dealing with client queries and providing accounting support
- Maintaining accurate working papers and records




- Using accounting software to complete client assignments
- Working to deadlines and managing your own workload

About You

- Previous experience within a UK accountancy practice
- AAT qualified, studying towards ACA/ACCA, or qualified by experience
- Experience in accounts preparation and tax compliance
- Good bookkeeping and accounting knowledge
- Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Keen to develop your career within practice
