We are working with a well-known engineering services business specialising in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing facilities. With a strong global footprint and a sustained period of growth, they are now seeking a Lead / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join theirteam.

The Chance

We are on the lookout for an experienced Lead / Principal / Senior Mechanical Engineer to join a multidisciplinary Engineering Team delivering outstanding results across projects in the mining and minerals industry.

Based out of Perth, you will work across a range of projects throughout Australia and across a variety of commodities, including gold, copper and iron ore, with occasional site visits depending on project requirements.

Responsibilities:

- Leading a project team to achieve design budgets and schedules, including technical direction and coordination
- Assisting lead designers in the development of layouts and conceptual designs
- Completing detailed mechanical engineering designs and calculations
- Technical review of mechanical drawings and vendor documentation
- Preparing and/or reviewing data sheets, scopes and tender evaluations for equipment procurement
- Ensuring design compliance with statutory regulations and company standards




- Ensuring designs are fit for purpose, considering cost, constructability, operability and maintainability
- Working with commissioning teams on site

About You

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum 10 years' technical and practical experience in the design, construction and commissioning of mineral processing plants, with a detailed understanding of multi discipline design delivery
- Sound knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles and practices, including sizing conveyors, pumps and other equipment typical of mineral processing
- Able to contribute to conceptual layouts and designs through to detailed designs and drawings
- Current knowledge of engineering design standards and practice
- Experience across both wet and dry plant
- A hands on leader, comfortable leading a multiskilled project team
- Full and unrestricted Australian working rights
