Description

Reporting to the Payroll Team Lead, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

- End-to-end processing of weekly and fortnightly payroll for a large national workforce.
- Managing employee lifecycle transactions including new starters, terminations, leave, and payroll adjustments.
- Ensuring payroll is processed accurately and in compliance with relevant Awards, Enterprise Agreements, and legislation.
- Processing superannuation, payroll tax, Single Touch Payroll (STP), and statutory obligations.
- Responding to payroll enquiries from employees and managers in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining payroll records and ensuring data integrity across payroll systems.
- Preparing payroll reconciliations, reports, and supporting month-end activities.
- Collaborating with HR, Finance, and operational stakeholders to resolve payroll issues.
- Supporting payroll projects, system enhancements, testing, and continuous process improvements.
- Contributing to a positive team culture while meeting payroll deadlines and service levels.

Profile

The successful Payroll Officer will have:

- Previous experience in a Payroll Officer, Payroll Administrator,



or Payroll Advisor role.
- Proven experience processing high-volume payroll in a multi-site environment.
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, STP, superannuation, payroll tax, and compliance requirements.
- Experience interpreting Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements.
- Strong payroll systems and HRIS experience.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and resolve payroll discrepancies.
- The ability to manage competing priorities and consistently meet payroll deadlines.
- Previous experience within hospitality, retail, franchise, or other quick-paced industries will be highly regarded.
