Purpose:
n
The Health and Safety Manager will report to the General Manager and work alongside Site Managers and the Quality team to deliver top-notch builds safely. Spending time in the office as well as on-site to conduct inspections, risk assessments, toolbox talks, investigate incidents or near misses and provide monthly safety reports.
n
Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Manage and oversee all safety operations, ensuring compliance with site and industry standards.
n
- Conduct risk assessments and share advice or insights with the internal team, contractors, and clients.
n
- Investigate incidents and near misses and develop preventative actions.
n
- Work with the Quality team to determine best practices.
n
- Visit sites and liaise with Site Managers and other project teams.
n
- Undertake site audits and inspections to evaluate HSE performance and corrective actions.
n
- Manage any injuries through the WorkCover process and develop return-to-work plans.
n
- Liaise with third parties (Unions, Workplace Health & Safety QLD) if required.
n
- Keep track of required training and certificates.
n
- Provide monthly reports to the Management team.
n
- Keep the reporting system (hammertech) up to date.
n
n
Requirements:
n
n
- Minimum of five years of experience in a Health and Safety position, ideally management.
n
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (BSB41419).
n
- Diploma of Work Health and Safety (beneficial).
n
- Experience in the construction industry.
n
- Proven ability to implement corrective and preventative actions.
n
- Strong attention to detail for investigations and RCA.
n
- Comfortable conversing and presenting to all levels of management and Clients.
n
