Position: Network Security Firewall & Policies Consultant

n

Location: Sydney, NSW

Duration: 6 months and extendable

Job Description:

n

n
- Execute change management and maintenance activities.
n
- Participate in Major Incident meetings to resolve P1/P2 tickets.
n
- Handle P3 & P4 incident tickets if not resolved at first level.
n
- Prepare reports.
n
- Upgrade and apply patches to security devices.
n
- Administer and manage VPNs (RA & S2S).
n
- Renew certificates of security devices.
n
- Manage device licensing and lifecycle.
n
- Create knowledge base articles for operational reuse.
n
- Manage problems related to recurring issues.
n
- Validate and configure NAT rules on firewalls.
n
- Manage routing configurations (Prefix list, Route-map).
n
- Configure URL filtering rules for traffic above Layer 4 to 7.
n
- Harden firewalls according to cybersecurity recommendations.
n
- Update vulnerability databases and snort rules periodically.
n
- Adjust firewall platform settings based on network architecture changes.
n
- Remediate vulnerabilities based on CIA ratings.
n
- Peer review firewall rules and templates for correctness and compliance.
n




- Review SNOW tickets regularly to ensure timely handling.
n
- Coordinate with third parties and OEMs as needed.
n
- Participate in daily operations review meetings.
n
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving major incidents.
n
- Handle service requests beyond Level 1 support.
n
- Identify devices needing upgrades based on BCS reports.
n
- Monitor emails and track responses.
n
- Manage incidents, service requests, catalogs, knowledge, changes, problems, CMDB/assets, templates, monitoring, and events.
n

Strong research, critical thinking, and analysis skills (formal training a bonus)

Understanding of concepts such as the intelligence cycle, Cyber Kill Chain, and MITRE ATT&CK; framework
