Senior IT Support Engineer | Sydney | Windows/MacOS, VMWare, Level 1/2 IT Support

n

One of our great clients is looking for a Senior IT Support Engineer to be a primary contact for IT issues across a 200+ international organisation, while also contributing to the design, implementation, and administration of IT systems and projects aligned with strategic objectives.

n

Key Objectives

n

n
- Handle Level 1 and 2 IT support tickets independently. Deliver effective on-site and remote support.
n
- Collaborate with Managed Service Providers (MSPs) to ensure consistent service delivery across global time zones.
n
- Maintain optimal performance of endpoint devices and adopt emerging technologies to improve endpoint management.
n
- Safeguard endpoint devices against threats and enforce robust security compliance policies.
n
- Automate repetitive tasks and improve endpoint processes to enhance productivity and cost-efficiency.
n

Primary Responsibilities

n

n
- Deploy, configure, and manage endpoint devices.
n
- Ensure compliance with internal IT and security policies.
n
- Lead software deployment and maintenance on endpoints.
n
- Diagnose and resolve advanced software/hardware issues.
n
- Monitor device health and performance.
n
- Develop and maintain scripts for task automation.
n
- Document endpoint configurations and procedures.
n




- Manage software licenses and ensure compliance.
n
- Apply security policies using tools such as Intune.
n
- Provide staff training on IT tools and usage.
n

n

Required Skills & Experience

n

n
- Expert knowledge of Windows and macOS operating systems
n
- Proficiency with endpoint management tools (e.g., Intune, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, SCCM, AD, Entra)
n
- Strong scripting abilities (PowerShell, Bash, Python)
n
- Software deployment, lifecycle management, and patching
n
- Solid understanding of cybersecurity standards and regulatory compliance (e.g., ISO, NIST, GDPR, HIPAA)
n
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting capabilities
n
- Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
n
- Experience with VMware vSphere, Azure VDI, and virtual infrastructure
n
