Your new company Hays is partnering with a well-established not-for-profit organisation to recruit an experienced Accounts Payable Officer for an immediate start contract opportunity in Townsville. This is a full time role working Monday to Friday, 38 hours per week, initially offered as a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. You'll join a supportive team setting where your contribution will help support important services delivered to the community.

Your new role As the Accounts Payable Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable transactions while maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices using Sage Software
n
- Matching purchase orders, invoices and supporting documentation
n
- Preparing and processing payment runs
n
- Reconciling supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
n
- Responding to supplier and internal stakeholder enquiries
n
- Maintaining accurate financial records and accounts payable data
n
- Assisting with month-end finance activities as required
n
- Ensuring compliance with organisational policies and procedures
n

What you'll need to succeed
n

- Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or Finance Administration role
n
- Experience using Sage accounting software
n
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
n
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
n
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
n
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
n
- A collaborative and proactive approach to work with a positive and friendly attitude
