Job Description
The Opportunity
n
An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join a high-performing finance team supporting a complex retail business. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the accuracy, integrity and timely delivery of financial reporting activities while supporting ongoing transformation initiatives. Working within a collaborative and evolving environment, you will partner closely with finance and operational stakeholders while helping drive process improvements, system enhancements and the successful delivery of key finance projects.

The Role
n
Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, you will take ownership of core financial accounting activities, support month-end and reporting processes, act as a key liaison between stakeholders and offshore teams, and contribute to the successful implementation and optimisation of finance systems and processes. This is an opportunity for a technically strong accountant who enjoys balancing financial control, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement within a dynamic business environment.

Key Responsibilities
n
n
- Lead the delivery of accurate and timely month-end close, journals, reconciliations and financial reporting activities.
n
- Partner with finance and operational stakeholders to enhance reporting frameworks and deliver meaningful financial insights.
n
- Provide guidance and oversight to offshore accounting teams to ensure service quality and continuous capability development.
n
- Support ERP implementation, testing, defect management and post go-live process optimisation initiatives.
n
- Drive process improvement and standardisation initiatives,
leveraging technology and automation to improve efficiency and control.
n
- Review complex balance sheet reconciliations and ensure the effectiveness of financial controls and governance frameworks.
n
- Coordinate audit deliverables and support internal and external compliance requirements.
n
- Act as a technical accounting resource, helping resolve complex issues and supporting successful business initiatives.

About You
n
You are a commercially minded and technically capable finance professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment. You enjoy building relationships, driving improvement and using your accounting expertise to support business outcomes. Your ability to influence stakeholders and navigate change will be highly valued.

You will bring:
n
n
- CA, CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
n
- 5+ years' experience in financial accounting, shared services or business services environments.
n
- Strong month-end, reporting, reconciliation and financial control experience.
n
- Experience working with ERP systems such as SAP S/4HANA, Dynamics 365 or similar platforms.
n
- Demonstrated process improvement and transformation experience.
n
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
n
- Exposure to offshore or outsourced service delivery models will be highly regarded.
n
n
