We're looking for Botanist professionals to join our Ecology team in Perth.
n
Our Environment business has maintained strong growth in recent years and is currently one of the largest groups in WA, being a leader in impact assessment and approvals, terrestrial ecology, marine, air and noise assessments services. Our diverse team contributes to a wide variety of projects, with a strategic focus on renewable energy, critical minerals and Defence at a regional, national and global scale.

Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
n
n
- Undertaking and leading botanical surveys throughout the State including detailed, basic, and targeted flora and community surveys and subsequent flora identification.
n
- Preparing technical reports including vegetation and flora assessments, clearing assessments and documentation to support referrals and environmental assessments.
n
- Preparing winning proposals to support business growth.
n
- Travel throughout the state to undertake surveys, often in remote locations for extended survey periods.
n
- Conducting specific ecology surveys and assessments.
n
- Maintain knowledge of ecology and botanical guidance and approvals.
n
- Making technical decisions and providing solutions based on expertise.
n

What will you bring to the team?
n
n
- Bachelor degree qualification in environmental science or ecology discipline.
n
- 5+ years' relevant experience consulting as a botanist, preferably within Western Australia but not essential
n
- Current drivers' licence (c class), manual preferred.
n
- Proven experience in and a sound understanding of current environmental issues and legislation.
n
- Proven experience in proposal development and project management and working as part of a team.
n
- Proven experience in supervision of junior team members, with the ability to mentor.
n
- Ability to deliver critical project outcomes under pressure with enthusiasm and drive.
n
n
Relocation to WA from within Australia will be considered.
