n

About the Role

n

We're looking for an experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to join our Northeast Melbourne team, with access to our Northcote clinic on High Street as your local team base.

n

This is a adaptable role combining clinic, community and hybrid working, giving you the opportunity to shape your week around your caseload and where you work best.

n

You can utilise our Northcote clinic for appointments, team connection and focused work, while also supporting participants in their homes, schools and communities across Melbourne's northeast. Your community caseload can be built with your location in mind, helping to keep travel practical and manageable.

n

Depending on your caseload, you may support participants across areas such as Northcote, Thornbury, Preston, Coburg, Brunswick, Heidelberg, Ivanhoe and surrounding north-eastern suburbs.

n

As a Senior Speech Pathologist, you'll continue doing the clinical work you enjoy while also having the opportunity to mentor, supervise and support developing clinicians.

You'll be surrounded by a multidisciplinary team across Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Behaviour Support and other allied health disciplines, giving you plenty of opportunity for collaboration and shared learning.

n

What You'll Be Doing

n

n
- Deliver person-centred Speech Pathology services across our Northcote clinic, participants' homes, schools and community settings
n
- Manage a varied and more complex caseload across communication and/or mealtime and dysphagia presentations
n
- Complete assessments, intervention planning and ongoing therapy
n
- Provide mentoring, clinical supervision and support to less experienced clinicians
n
- Work collaboratively with families, carers, educators and multidisciplinary colleagues
n
- Contribute your clinical experience and ideas to the broader team
n
- Participate in professional development, peer learning and clinical collaboration
n

n

Why Join Avina?

n

n
- A Northcote clinic base on High Street – giving you a genuine space for appointments, collaboration and focused work
n
- Flexibility in how you work – with a combination of clinic, community and hybrid options
n
- Community work built around you – with consideration given to where you live when developing your caseload
n

- Genuine senior opportunities – mentor and support other clinicians while continuing to maintain your own clinical practice
n
- Multidisciplinary support – work alongside clinicians from a range of allied health disciplines
n
- Achievable KPIs designed to support sustainable clinical practice and work-life balance
n
- Ongoing professional development and opportunities to continue growing your clinical and leadership skills
n
- National opportunities with local connection – the resources and career opportunities of a larger organisation, with the support of your local Melbourne team
n
- Systems, resources and clinical support designed to help you spend more time focusing on your clients
n

n

What You'll Bring

n

n
- Bachelor or Master of Speech Pathology
n
- Current Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) membership, with CPSP preferred
n
- Strong clinical experience across communication and/or mealtime/dysphagia presentations
n
- Experience mentoring, supervising or supporting less experienced clinicians
n
- Strong communication, collaboration and organisational skills
n
- NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working With Children Check, or willingness to obtain
n
- Driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle, as some community-based work forms part of the role
n

n

Interested? If you're an experienced Speech Pathologist looking for your next step, but still want to stay connected to clinical practice, this could be a great opportunity to do both.

n

You'll have the flexibility of community and hybrid work, a clinic base in the heart of Northcote, a multidisciplinary team around you and genuine opportunities to mentor and influence the clinicians coming through behind you.
