We're looking for an experienced Category Specialist to take ownership of key categories, shape sourcing strategies and deliver measurable commercial outcomes across the business.

In this role you will:

n

- Drive performance, culture and align with the company strategy and governance standards.
n
- Develop and implement short and long-term category strategies for assigned spend segments across the group.
n
- Apply best-in-class procurement processes, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring long term profitability, competitive advantage, and cost reduction.
n
- Adherence to Group Strategic Procurement process, including key sourcing strategy, supplier selection and evaluation, quality management and performance measurements.
n
- For both national and international vendors facilitate the bidding processes, manage the prequalification and short-listing of bidders, preparations of bids, issuance of bids, pre-bid conference (internal & external), bid evaluation, recommendation for award, contracts negotiations, contract finalisation, contract execution and issuance.
n
- Monitor and analyse contract performance against agreed benchmarks and through agreed reporting mechanisms including KPIs and reports.
n
- Advise operations on any potential issues and recommend remedial actions or solutions.
n
- Identify and manage to early resolution of supplier disputes.
n
- Work effectively across business units with different objectives in the creation and implementation of procurement strategies for complex spend categories.
n




- Run post award sessions to review lessons learnt and implement changes.
n
- Develop tools, guidelines and manuals for standardisation and knowledge sharing purposes.
n
- Provide guidance on and implement technology-based solutions.
n
- Manage prequalification of potential and audits of current suppliers to guarantee an optimum supplier base.
n

We're looking for a commercially minded procurement professional who understands the mining environment and can confidently manage complex supplier relationships.

n

Ideally, you'll have:

n

n
- Proven experience in Category Management, Strategic Procurement or Strategic Sourcing.
n
- Experience working with mining-related products and services.
n
- Strong knowledge of procurement, tendering and contracting processes.
n
- Proven experience managing HME parts and service suppliers across OEM and aftermarket markets.
n
- Experience bidding, negotiating and implementing service scopes of work.
n
- Strong commercial negotiation and contract management skills.
n
- Experience preparing formal bid and contract documentation and commercial correspondence.
n
- Experience with system-enabled Procure-to-Pay (P2P) processes.
n
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
n
- Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation capabilities.
n
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word and Excel.
n
- Project management experience with an end-to-end delivery mindset.
n
- A strategic approach to market planning and sourcing.
n
- Demonstrated ability to manage large, complex and challenging supplier relationships.
n
- The ability to work autonomously while also contributing effectively within a small, high-performing team.
n
- A qualification in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Materials Management or a related discipline (desirable).
